If ChatGPT is the 'professor', Claude the 'writer', and Gemini the 'Google assistant', then Meta AI is like your most social-media-savvy friend. It runs on Meta's new Muse Spark model, and you don't need to download a new app. Just open Messenger, WhatsApp, or Instagram, type @Meta AI, and start chatting right away.
Meta AI is Meta's official artificial intelligence assistant, operating directly within Messenger, WhatsApp, Instagram and on meta.ai without requiring any additional app downloads.
The current version runs on the Muse Spark model, launched by Meta's Super Intelligence Lab on 8 April 2026.
Meta AI's purpose is highly practical: helping you find information quickly, understand real trends from social media, create images and videos for free, read and analyse documents, write content, and make plans with friends directly within the chat window.
Unlike chatbots that only browse the web, Meta AI combines web data with real-time signals from Facebook, Instagram and Threads, making its answers more grounded in everyday life rather than just theoretical.
You ask ChatGPT: "10 tourist spots in Chiba". You will receive a list identical to travel blogs: Klook, japanbiz.vn, tourdulichnhatban.top...
You ask Meta AI the same question, and the result will have two layers:

Meta AI will respond like this:
"If you're going with young children, Tokyo locals are checking in a lot at Mother Farm (has sheep for kids to feed, mi_yu.asobo just posted yesterday). For a quiet seaside view, otonatokodomo_trip recommends Kujukuri Beach with a dreamlike sunset. As for the flower lovers, chibaharu_odekake suggests Sakura Park in Sakura City is in full bloom this week, with a map link and opening hours."
You don't just get place names; you get real photos, posting times, genuine impressions, and even booking links on Klook if you want. That is something a web-only AI cannot do.
Prompt: "Create an image of me wearing a kimono standing at Naritasan Temple, Chiba, film photo style"
Meta AI takes your profile picture from Instagram, blends it in, and returns the image instantly. No Photoshop needed, no usage limits like DALL-E.
Want a video? "Make a 5-second birthday greeting video for my mother, Vietnamese voice, cherry blossom background." You get an mp4 file ready to send to the family group on WhatsApp.
In the Messenger group "Chiba trip for 4 people", you tag:
@Meta AI plan a 1-day, 2-night itinerary, departing from Chuo-ku, budget 15,000 yen per person, with a 5-year-old child
Meta AI returns:
No more copy-pasting between ChatGPT and the group chat.
Upload a Japanese rental contract PDF. Ask: "Summarise the deposit terms, are there any disadvantages for foreigners?"
Meta AI reads it, highlights key points, and draws a comparison table with standard Tokyo rental laws. It runs real code to calculate, not guess.
But if you just want an assistant that understands everyday life, knows which café in Chiba is busy right now, remembers you like film-style photos, and replies right where you're already chatting — that's when you open Instagram, type @Meta AI, and try your first question.
